| 12 Feb 2001 | Jukka J. Matikainen | Uh, positively hideous look! Now, let's comp-shade this one, shall we! This looks very much like a sketch I usually start shading in PSP or Photoshop. Now, basically I make the shaded areas very dark, so the whole character would be _very_ black. Then I'd put strong white to the parts where the light hits, so, like here the muscles and so. Always keep a certain level of opacity, say 10-40% on the brush. The best thing in comp-shading is that you can experiment freely, so there's no fuss if you mess up. The detailed parts are of course harder to achieve, so it takes quite a lot of time. Oh yeah, the size of the brush can be and should be quite large. Polishing comes last, which is like dry-brushing with small opacity, with a small brush. Ah, but check out my new one and you see how the dry-brushing is achieved. Heh, a great demon, I'd say!
oh yeah, but obviously its aLOT harder than this makes out! i will kepp practicing, meanwhile this guy is the master of it, EVErYONE go check him out RIGHT now
| 14 Feb 2001 | Cheryl Ann Johnson | *sigh* there he goes again, being right.^_^ No, but this is definately not something that I'd want under MY bed!^_~ I love the wings and the basic body position. And the shading, can't forget the shading! Say, uh...do you make guard dogs? ^_^
yep, guard dogs along with coats of arms, mechanical or you want a genetically engineered one? the latter would cost you a bit more tho. And i doubt hed fit under your bed, what with Cole under there and all. >_o
