"Loial" by Peter Christian Neufeld

What a great sketch! This is just how I pictured Loial myself. I just finished doing a pic of Loial myself and I also thought he was the hardest one of the characters I've done so far. I thought I'd take a look through Elfwood to see how other people picture him and your sketch is remarkably similar to my pic although in mine he has a beard. I'd love you to take a look and tell me what you think of him.

I think it's the best picture of Loial I've seen so far...the most pics I've seen shows Loial like a scary and ugly...I have always imagined him like a kinda cute person (?)...this pic are better than what I was thinking of though...

hmmm, i think this is where my consensus breaks down, i think it has a passing resemblance to loial, but i'm not sure about the cutesy roundedness of the face, looks kind of dwarfish, and though i like how you've worked out the wide nose thing i always saw it as making him look nobler, almost leonine in appearance, rather than the wizend old man you've got here. idon't get me wrong, i like the pic, and it will defiently help me in picturing loial, but i just pictured someone a little different. guess the agreement was to good to last, eh? though you did say he was the hardest to draw, and i'll have to agree with you there. and i do like this picture, and would like to see a few more of your interpretations of loial, hell, you might even convince me he looks like that, after all, you got all the others right!

He's sooo cute! For an Ogier, anyway.

This is great! I"ve had the worst time getting a clear picture of Loial in my head, partly because the art on the covers of the books is so bad, and i hate the one picture they have of him. Kudos to you for a job well done!

Ive seen alot of pictures of Loial....most look like a trollock..not even close to an Ogier...you did an excellent job this is exactly as the BOOK describes him..great job!!

Yay, just how I pictured him (apart from the eyebrows that are supposed to dangle to his cheeks, but that's alright ^^). REALLY cute ^-^

Its very good!!!! But a little scary!!! Funny i always thought he had a more cat like nose funny huh! Likeing the minibook tho!

I love this picture, you are the first one i have seen to make something that even resemble an ogier, but you have made him so old....! And he isn't even old enough to leave home without permission. I think that the shoulders might have something to do with it. Loial is young and big as far as I understood the book and here the shoulders are all crumbled up. And it looks like he has no neck.
