SciFi and Fantasy Art: Seanna and Squidly

Another mermaid picture for those who enjoy somewhat "fishy" women. Depicted are the mermaid Seanna and her faithful friend, Squidly the octopus. I've made some minor changes to her face (hence the new upload) that hopefully made her look a bit more alive. You tell me...

that picture is wonderful!
I like how you give your mermaids knees, most don’t sketch them that way. But , I’m sorry , Isn’t that a sguid?

18 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "You’re correct it is a squid and not an octopuss. I have a hard time keeping those apart. I’m glad you like how I draw mermaids Boo."

What are those starfish doing to her!!!!

12 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Not to her, for her. I would say protecting her from peeping-toms..."

Squidly and Flounder are gonna have it out to see whose the better sidekick.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Sonds like a rigged match to me. How on earth is Flounder gonna last agains Squidly and his superior arms?"

Squidly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So cute!

12 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Don’t say that. He’s a lean, mean squidling machine."

I love it so much. She has great hair. The only thing is,is that the arm by the squid is just kinda hanging there.Maybe it should be bent a bit.THe tritent adds a good touch too!

18 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "I’m glad you liked it and I’m not affended in any way but her arm is not just "hanging there". She’s using it to steer and in this case also to break a little. Thank you!"

I like this one even better than the last! Really like it! And the animals too, you chose them right, they make the drawing much better!

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Thank you Renate! Adding the animals makes for a better drawing I hope, or that was my intention. They bring more life to it."
