SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sorrow in my heart

Sorrow shows the pain of learning that a loved one has left you, never to return. The poor girl in the picture has lost her fiance as he fought bravely for his king and country in a forreign land, perhaps to stop the evil Orc hordes from invading his home, hurting his loved ones. I also wrote you a poem to go with the picture and I've chosen to call it "Sorrow in my heart":

Sorrow in my heart,
A pain so hard to bear.
A void within my bleeding soul,
Dreams shattered by despair.

You left behind an emptiness,
Existence starts to fade.
I miss your gentle smile my love,
I wish you could have stayed.

A single cut - a blood soaked blade,
Your life came to an end.
No chance for us to say goodbye,
I miss you so my friend.

How can you think that you cant write poems? It's pure and beautiful. Dont say things like that... It makes me jealose that you can throw it aside like that, if i could do that id be clinging onto it! Write more please! Oh and draw more too, you can really feel her pain and i love the letter because you can see the reason why she's crying. Xxxxx

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Well, I'm not used to writing poems but I've had quite a lot of feedback on this one... most of it kind. I'm really glad you liked and I actually posted another poem just a few weeks back. It's probably not as good as this one, but I felt encouraged. Thanks Kitty! "

I love her posture. So ladylike even in her sadness. She seems to be leaning on the tree for support which is a nice effect. The poem is great! Don't sell yourself short. It seems like she just found out her lover was killed. But did he write the poem? It wouldn't seem so if he had died. I'm curious about that. This is excellent.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Thank you Brian. It would make more sense if she had written the poem, but neither of them did. It's just a little something that I put together to express the feelings of the poor woman in the picture. "

It's really beautiful...
She looks so broken...
I really like your poem too.
Are you a writer?

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Thank you Silke! I'm a wannabe writer so yes, but I'm not sure that counts. I've even written two novels (in Swedish of course), but they haven't been published or anything. I'm still hoping though... "

Wooww! This is great... I love it... unbelievable, the way your poem and the pic suit together! It's hard to find words for these, when this makes me breathless...your poem and the pic really touched my soul and that's why your in my opinion a real artist!

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "I can't express the gratitude I feel when I receive such kind words, but thank you, whoever are. Thank you very much! "

I love the pic and ur poem, both r beautiful, however if i had 2 add some constructive criticsm it would b tht her hair line is 2 far back and tht u spelt wish wrong in ur poem.

I love ur work tho, and i rly admire the way u can draw people, i wish i could draw people like tht, ur work is stunning

11 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Oh, ah... I seem to have corrected that spelling mistake at some point (don’t even remember doing so). The hair, well I think it looks good the way it is but that’s just my opinion. Thanks for not being so harsh as some people can be and for liking my art despite those errors."

To the person above....wish was spelled "wrong" for a reason maybe some day you will figure it out...your spelling is atrocious.

To the brilliant artist...I have been sitting here for I can’t tell you how long going through every one of your pictures and I’m just speechless...the details, the emotions, the absolutely brilliant talent. For months I have been coming to this website every day and I have my favorite artists and as hard as this is to say...as of today you have made number one on my list. I would say I was jealous of you but one that would be redundant and two make me sound like everyone else. I am not jealous...I think of you as a wonderful inspiration to myself and everybody who ever views your work. Keep up with the drawing and the wonderful work you do!

Thank you for giving my eyes something great to look at!

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "I don’t mind getting critisism as long as it’s fair FairiePrincess, but on the other hand I don’t mind being defended once in a while either, so thank you. I’m very pleased that you find my art to your liking and for acheiving such a high ranking on your list. As for giving you something to look at, you’re welcome!"

Hands down my favourite picture. Shes beautiful and you really feel her pain. Are you an illustrator or do you just draw for your personal enjoyment??

18 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "This far it’s just for myself but I have made a few illustration over the years. Not that I would call myself professional or anything as they have been way to few. I like this picture too... one of my personal favorites. Thank you!"

I love your peice; and your poem. Yor poem is very good.

2 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Well it does rhime, the poem I mean. I’m sure it could have been better but it will have to do. Thanks!"

I think this is my favourite. She looks catroonish enough to give it an elven feel but she is human enough to make it believable. Lovely poem too.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Sweet words. Thank you Jaschenka!"
