SciFi and Fantasy Art: Llawenu

This is a picture of a character belonging to a lovely individual who emailed me some time ago (July 19, 2002 to be exact) asking if I would draw her character. I liked the request, so I told her I would, but it would take a long time because I lacked time and inspiration.

Well, months later, here she is! The description I got was very simple, so I took many liberties. Here is what was included in the email:

Name:Llawenu Galanodel
Race:Wood nymph
Hair: Long white and braided
eyes:Green
skin:pale
Misc.:Very delicate looking, has green tear-drop on her forehead, has a dagger at her side at all times

Llawenu Galanodel copyright her creator. This interpretation, however, is mine. =)

I love the leafy shadows on this pic. And the dagger, peeking out from under that gorgeous vest... heh. I should take pointers from you!

:-) Nico Danell replies: "Hmm, you take pointers from ME? I dunno if there's anything I can tell you. =P"

Really beautiful picture. Is her name pronounced 'Ll' how the Welsh say it or is it pronounced like a long 'L'?
I love the hair and I WANT THAT SCARF

:-) Nico Danell replies: "I couldn't tell you how to pronounce her name, but I'm sure if you ask her creator (see comment below), you could find out. "

I really like that character design =) The shadows cast by the leaves are a very nice touch as well. The radiance/sparkles around her hair are pretty cool too!

:-) Nico Danell replies: "Thanks! The sparklies were an afterthought but I kind of like the way they look..."
