SciFi and Fantasy Art: Ashes

Who knows about the witch trials in Salem? If you float you're guilty, if you drown you're innocent, or they can just torture you till you confess. Don't you wish that once in a while something could happen to save the accused witch? How about divine intervention! Tie her up, light the fire, CRACK!, lightning flashes and the skies open up, long enough to douse the fire, then disapear to the astonishment of the gathered crowd.
