Two little details that could perhaps be improved. One, the legs are twisted in a mighty uncomfortable position in relation to the body. Two, the wing should probably attach to the whole back and not just the shoulder. Overall though, a very nice piece. KUTGW Catherine Noble Beyer replies: "I so wish I knew what KUTGW meant."
| 13 Dec 2002 | Kenshin | Loading...I think it would be better if the legs were like a humans. But it's your pic. That's just my opinion so don't go yelling at me for critizing this pic... Catherine Noble Beyer replies: "Now why would I yell? Constructive criticism is always welcome. The friend who I did this for specifically asked for the legs to bend backward like a bird. He wanted the figure to be very birdish, for lack of a better term, as opposed to a guy with feathers." | |

| 1 Apr 2004 | Moon Stalker | Loading...Great picture, gives new meaning to "anthro animals". The legs look odd, but make the creature look interest. Love the wings. | |
| 1 Apr 2004 | Moira hawthorne | Loading...I think the legs are right for a bird why they look off is because if it was a human that leg would be broken. But thats the viewer's assumption not an error with the drawing but it will always look a bit odd at first. Catherine Noble Beyer replies: "Yes, I have had that complaint before. I agree it looks odd, but I think it's part of his charm. The friend I did it for wanted it to look particularly birdlike instead of just a regular guy with a few feathers." | |

KUTGW=Keep Up The Good Work
This captures the essence of the superhero character in question, and yes, it's supposed to be a very, very awkward look. What's even more amazing, though, is that there was very little 'source' material to work from when I presented this to the artist, most of this is based on things she visualized based on my text description...
"Corvine's body is covered with a multitude of tough black feathers. His fingertips are covered by claws that are seemingly retractable, and tremendous bird-wings spring from his back. His face extends outwards in a near-semblance of a crow's--beak and all. His feet are obsidian scaly avian talons of similar toughness to the feathers. If one were to measure his height to the top of his head, he'd be about 5', but if one measures to the top of his wings, they're nearly 8' in height if not folded down very tightly. His eyes are black, on either side of his head in avian style. He wears a pair of thick black cargo shorts on his lower abdomen, as not very much else in the way of clothing would appear to be able to fit his frame."
Very glad to see this here. Someone else said it before, but I have to agree--there are very few 'bird' pictures like this here.
