SciFi and Fantasy Art: Thought on the window

A Crystal Girl sitting on the window ...
The moonlight coming down above her
and makes her rising up brightly from the night's darkness...

... what's on her mind?

She seems in deep thought (hence the title). I like her facial expression, it is like I'm waiting for a tear to caress her cheek. She seems sad, about ready to cry, as if she has just received bad news about her lover or something. I like this picture.

Your right, she is waiting to shed a tear. She is torn between a marriage of convenience, brokered by her father,
for the good of the family, and her love of a young courtier
from a high bred court family. The note in her hand is the
last message from him, read, reread, and agonised over for
hours. Does she go to him, and hope the future is bright for them, or does she stay and do her fathers bidding, marrying another and moving to a far province of the kingdom? Finally she has come here, to her 'quiet place', too wrung out with indecision and fear, to have hope...

I don't know how the story ends, but I can tell you the contents of the note...

I have a public face,
and a private heart.
Do you see ones end,
and the others start?
Or like so many,
past and gone,
Do you see the two,
and think them one?
And thinking thus,
would you turn away,
When a private heart
would bid you...

‘Stay?’

Shirhan.

I love the "Thought on the Window" because sometimes late at night when i can't get to sleep i stay up and look out my
window in deep thought. It is so beautiful and i wish i had
a talent for painting like you do.

I always thought the way moonlight silvered hair was beautiful, but you captured it perfectly here. Her gown is radiant, as is her expression... And to the person who said her nose is too long, who are you to judge? Imperfection is what makes us human, if that can even be considered an imperfection... In her case, I think it makes her unique and all the more beautiful. The thing that caught my eye the most, oddly enough, was her 'slightly twisted' leg. The pose looks so natural, and I thought she looked rather peaceful myself. Beautiful work, Sonoco.
