I would have to agree from a pratical standpoint an arms and armor exposed to the elements become rusted and worthless....but this also adds a sense of forboding to me....why are they not rusted? it gives a sense of a castle set in statis.....and something dark and wrong waiting somewhere in the depths of this castle....nice shading sense as well.

Judging by the tattered rags on the walls the castle has been taken over by an Ancient White Dragon. His cold is soooooooooo great that even the metal dare not rust. 1

I love this picture. That is snow right? Mabye if everything looked a little more 'ancient' it would fit better.

why would anyone build it like that in that kind of a climate? has the roof blown off too recently for rust to set in or is there indeed some dark ensorcelmant at work here as others have suggested? i think even those inneared to imagination, beauty and creative expression would put something on top for a roof. or is this weather extremely unusual for the location perhaps? this is one of the best realized "armouries" i've seen so far - so i can't help wondering why the "top down in a snow storm" effect...

Hi....I think this is a terrific picture, me having no artistic ability myself. I wanted to know if I could use this picture on my web page. Email me your answer, 'cause I don't want to get in trouble with anyone. 2 Thanks a lot.

Wow, that is an amazing scene. And this being a fantasy setting, I don't see why open air would matter, after all who would make magical armour that could rust?

I would have to disagree, yes the armor would rust if left in the elements too long, yet if this is an active kingdom the armor pieces and weapons would be removed on a daily basis saving them from this. And in real life castles were very cold, the armories included. I am a smithy and swordfighter IRL for SCA I think that indeed this is a quality image. Abstract, but realistic.

Easy 3d, any newcomer would see that all armors are identicals... a few individual scratch may make the work a little more realistic, when will the elfwood art gallery will give all 3d wannabe "artists" an invidual gallery to see all those computer-based art al alone and let real artist sxpress themselves? I'm sorry for you, but talent isn't real if based on computer knowledge.

Hmph. El Matador has no idea what he's talking about. 3d art is far from easy, even with copying and pasting. There's issues of lighting, materials, etc. I've tried 3d art myself, and I know I could never make anything that looks as nice as this, even if I was given all the models to copy and paste.
