SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tanis

You know when you want to draw something but you lack the inspiration?
It happened to me lately and I was very sad.
Then, I decided to browse through my old pictures and redraw something.
This is the redrawn version of my old 'Tanis'.
I decided to replace the old one with the new version because it is so much better!
The new one doesn't look like Mel Gibson any more, but it resembles more Tanis as I have always pictured him.

He looks so much better than Mel Gibson! I have always pictured Tanis as a blond, but the pic´s still great. You really have a talent!

Oh yeah, that little picture by Valerie Valusk (sp?)was it?, I used it as reference too, I don't like him with a beard, but that is just my preference ( though he might look good with just a mustache). I wish they would put pictures in the books again, that always adds interest ( what are they afraid it'll make it more like a little kids book? 14 ) Good job.

Wow, he looks so real. His hair seems so, hairy? Its really good. A lot of drawings i see by other people look less realistic and more cartoony, but you could see this guy just walking around on the street and not think anything of it.

**falls out of her chair in a swooning fit** oh, yes, he makes a very lovely Tanis. what a gorgeous drawing. the ears are great. yeah, i know how weird that sounds, but i don't usually like the way people draw pointed ears. but you did it just right! hooray! and i agree with Celeste, the hair looks very real. great great great! i love Tanis!

Tanis is my second favorite character in the DragonLace series!!!!!!! My first is Raistlin *glares at anyone who doesn't like him or this pic* VERY good job portrayiing him. You should do more like it.

This is a spectacular picture! I really do love it. Somehow you've drawn Tanis just as I pictured him. Mel Gibson really would bring him to life.

This is just incredible - I'm jealous of your ability to draw males so well! One thing though - his ear seems to be just a bit too high on his face. A good rule of thumb is to make the bottom of the earlobe at the same horizontal line as the nostrils. But I suppose it just gives him more "character" this way 2 Good job!

Amazing...this is perfect
10 Oct 200445 Tanis -- My real name
I love Dragon Lance... except for one small lil detail, my name is Tanis and I'M A GIRL! Tanis is short for N,tanis (entance) which means My Daughter in Cree... lol.

Now as for the drawing very well done! I love the facial features, and details. Good work ^_^
