SciFi and Fantasy Art: Aries

A request for Staci, Aries is portrayed by Stace the Dragonfly Fae. The Ram in the background is, of course, the symbol of Aries. Red is the traditional color, and Stace is holding the diamond birthstone. The thorn trees at each side of Stace are the symbolic trees of Aries, and fire is the element. From a chain on Stace's wrist dangles a sprig of honeysuckle, the flower of Aries. Medium: Painter 6

While I definitely think that this picture is well done, as is every other picture in your gallery, I don't think it really captures the fire that is typically associated with aries.Almost the entire background consists of a wall of fire, stylized, like the thorn trees. This was my personal preference in representing Aries' element.

1 Mar 2008	Ruth annarose digby	Loading... Ooooh... gorgeous! I love the dress, it looks so shiny and flowy! I have to admit some... bad thoughts... about the wings though. They don’t suit her as much. Norma Peters replies: "I agree with you about the wings. However, I had no choice. An author commissioned me to do a set of Zodiac pictures representing her fantasy characters. She chose her dragonfly fae, Stace, to represent Aries. These wings are Stace’s wings - purple, and dragonfly-like in appearance. I couldn’t change them, because she would not be the same character without them."
