My name is Valerie Petrush, and I'm a senior in high school. I've been drawing since I was in first grade, though not very seriously until about fourth or fifth. Many people always ask me if I've taken any special art classes, but the truth is, I haven't. I took the required art course in seventh grade but that was it. I just like to putz around with my pencils and stuff on my own, without having people tell me what to draw or any specific way to draw it. I'm a large fan of fantasy works, various artists on the web and fantasy book series like the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Those are primarily my main inspirations; I like to draw characters and animals from books or make my own creations based off the general ideas, with my own changes. I draw and write mainly because I enjoy it, and I find it very, very relaxing. In the future I plan to go to college after I graduate and major in history or anthropology.
