SciFi and Fantasy Art: Wyvern Sketches

These sketches are for an animation project in computer animation class. I had done a previous version, but then my computer crashed before I saved so I had to re-do it, the first one was much better. Done in Photoshop 6.

7 Jan 2003	Louie Peary aka Katz aka Aliaris aka Jeweled Dragon aka...	Loading... I like seeing the more conceptual sketches around the main one. It has a very serpentine look which makes the big, heavy legs look out of place. Also they are far down the body (compared with the wings) which would mess up the balance (imagine it flying: there's far more weight behind the wings than in front). I like the nice narrow head. It looks like it's about to roar or something! Raaaarh!
12 Mar 2004	J	Loading... I like the shadowy echoes around the edges of the form... It makes the wyvern seem like it's only partially here in this realm... as if the viewer can't lock on to its exact location...
