SciFi and Fantasy Art: There's Always A Bigger Fish

This is one of the four sucessful images I did in watercolor and colored pencil. the leviathan and the fish were doen in colored pencil and the background was done in watercolor. The original piece is 16x22 inches. After I had this piece hung in a show somone pointed out to me that the old addage i used as a title had been used in one of the newer starwars movies...that wasn't done on purpose.

He's actually very elegant, all the white scales make him sort of glow, it's very pretty. As I am quite unable to use watercolours properly, this looks very, very good to me.
It gives me a pleasant calm feeling, all though he's a big bad beast!

This is an awesome picture! The water colors give the background a very mysterious feel and they seem to flow well with the colored pencils. I like the creature overall and you did a nice job on the fins. I like the poise of the larger fish and its facial expression. Very nice work!
