SciFi and Fantasy Art: Speak of the Devil

That's right, despite all the comments I got telling me I don't know what the Jersey Devil looks like I've drawn him again, only slightly diffrent from the last time. Much to my glee he looks more menecing in this picture. This is my second attempt to draw a picture only in colored pencils. Colored pencil, being a medium which that my scanner does not appreciate this picture dosen't look as good as the original. At any rate I am at least semi satisfied with it and my other colored pencil attempt, let me know what you think. If everyone hates this new only colored pencil thing then I'm going to stop doing it. But if people like it I'll keep working with it. Also any tips on making colored pencil drawings better would be greatly appreciated.

1 Jun 2003	John M. Prinkey	Loading... Well bro, I think giving up on the medium just because of what people think of two pictures is stupid. Just keep practicing if you don't think it's good enough now. I think the shading is good, just work on the textures. Nice dog, too!

I would suggest weighting down your colors by applying a few more layers of color and using a kneaded eraser or a white pencil to lighten the highlights. I also like the depth you put in the picture with the trees. His wings are nicely done^_~ Good attention to detail! Keep up with this and you might put me out of business!
