SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Taming of Sméagol

'For a moment it appeared to Sam that his master had grown and Gollum had shrunk: a tall stern shadow, a mighty lord who hid his brightness in grey cloud, and at his feet a little whining dog. Yet the two were in some way akin and not alien: they could reach one another's minds. Gollum raised himself and began pawing at Frodo, fawning at his knees. 'Down! down!' said Frodo. 'Now speak your promise!'
'We promises, yes I promise!' said Gollum. 'I will serve the master of the Precious. Good master, good Sméagol, gollum, gollum!' Suddenly he began to weep and bite at his ankle again.'

JRR Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: Book IV, Chapter 1: The Taming of Sméagol

Uuuuh...Smeagol looks cepy here...that´s good cos he´s to cute in the movie...he is an intresting carakter but also a evil one...some times...but i think he seams too nice in the movie...i think your hobbits are great...they are a littel older(in my opinion) just as they are in the book and this is a great pic from the chapter..it´s bin too long time since i read the two towers...i better do that soon... As usual yoa have a talent for material and backgrounds...a realy grat pic!*thumbs up*Thank you. I really didn't like Gollum's portrayal in the movie. But then again, don't even get me started on PJ's 'rendition' of 'TTT'. Ugh.

This picture is cool! It must take a lot of work to draw Gollum.
-Daniel HicksIndeed, and seeing as this is over a year and a half old now, I'd portray him a little differently today.

Frodo and Sam look tall............did you made them like that?????

good art, love the colors ^-^Yes, the proportions are a little awkward due to the fact that my skills weren't so good at the time of painting this. Still, thanks a lot.

I loves this depicition of Gollum yes we does don't we my precious. And if anyone says otherwise they're just a stupid fat hobbit. Ach, yessss, we're glad you likes this portrayal, aren't we Precious? Sssssss....

Great pic of Smeagol! He really caught my attention, and from reading the other comments, i realised why: he looks a whole lot more evil. I think your way of drawing him is more correct - Smeagol is bad, even if he's a victim of the Ring!
Frodo and Sam are refreshingly different from the ideas the movies have impressed upon my eyeballs!! ~_~You're right, Gollum is definitely an evil creature, and I guess that shouldn't be forgotten. At the same time, I think he's very pitiable and wretched. Anyway, thanks a lot!
