SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fire of Ages

I'm proud of this piece; it's one of those ones that I let sit around for a year, untouched, before I returned and just finished it. I had trouble coming up with a background once I drew the dragon. But a quick look through one of my fossil reference pamphlets solved that problem. I included crumbling ammonite shells and patterns of fossil palm tree bark and leaves, among other things.

I accomplished this one with watercolor and colored pencils.

Mine always look like something done by a 5-year-old! Wahhh!! Okay, I'm fine now. Beautiful colors and pattern, Rachael. The thumbnail doesn't do it justice!
