SciFi and Fantasy Art: Iguana Drums

I'm really pleased with this particular piece. This is the first Renaissasnce Festival 'furry' that I've done in quite a long time. He's modeled on my mom's big ol' iguana, Stimpy, and his costume is loosely based on a photo of a random guy from the Kansas City Ren Fest. The window is based on a little clip from one of my Art Nouveau style books.

This piece was accomplished with a watercolor wash and lots of colored pencil overlays.

Hahaha! That is so cool! I love the way you do realism (however twisted) in your art, especially with color. This is such an awesome pic!

I have actually never commented on any pictures on this site before, but I had to say something about this one. I had an iguana for years, and you captured every detail so amazingly here. I looked through the rest of your gallery as well, and it is stunning. I've bookmarked your page and will come back to see these again often. (*crosses fingers that you will draw a lion and a phoenix in the future*)

That is awesomeness incarnate!!! Iguana pirate, who woulda thought? I love his costume, it supremely rocks. I want that hat, that cape, that doublet...that's awesome. Way rad. Peacock feathers, sheesh... Anyway, I'm sounding like a stoner now, which is lame. Great pic though, really great. The colors are really well done.
