SciFi and Fantasy Art: Jazzdragon 8

This is Jazzdragon 8 in all his glory. I created him as a mascot for the Kansas City bid for the 2006 WorldCon.

Though we lost the bid for the 2006 Worldcon, I did have an enormous amount of fun working with the fine folks who ran the bid committee (Jim, Paula, Margene, Jeff, and about a dozen other fan boys and girls in Kansas City). This Jazzdragon remains one of my favorites.

Though I do not have the other Jazzdragons up at Elfwood any longer, you are welcome to go have a look at them in my DeviantArt gallery.

Stop the presses... I just found my favorite picture in your entire gallery! Love the dragon, love the sax (I agree with Amanda, that instrument isn't easy to draw), but it's how you've put the whole thing together that does it. Kudos, Rachael!

This picture is so cool!! I've played the saxophine for 8 years, and I have enjoyed it very much. To the picture, quite a different way to draw a dragon. I bet he's playing the blues, because he's blue. The coloring is awesome! He looks like he's having fun and putting his heart into his playing. Good job on the instument, not many people(including myself) can draw saxophones well. Good job on the point of view, too. I just absolutely, positively LOVE this pidture!!! ^_^ brilliant job!

Can You Say Bright?!
Hey i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who thinks so.
But ya gotta admit it is creative, none of my work comes close to this.

hey! I love this pic. all the things you do are all fun, and look like you were ahving fun doing them. what happened to jazz dragon #6? I'd love to see him/her, even if you aren't proud of it. Nah, Jazzdragon 6 was never even finished. I got partway through it, but it simply wouldn't coalesce the way I wanted it to. I may try to tackle it again one of these days, but presently I'm concentrating on the latest batch of Jazzdragons with instruments.
