SciFi and Fantasy Art: Serpent Star 3: Bluestar

This is another series with which I have not worked in quite some time. Serpent Star is comprised of Quetzlcoatl-type dragons and Aztec or Mayan motifs - some more, some less. This pic has only hints of architectural motifs, as the dragon took up most of the picture plane.

Honestly, I wish I could get my head-ruff to burst into blue fire on command...

This image was accomplished with an acrylic-and-salt wash and lots of colored pencil. It's a big bruiser, too, at 15x20 inches.

This piece earned an honorable mention at TorCon, the 2003 WorldCon in Toronto, Canada.

27 Aug 2005	guan-antou'di	Loading... a few letters.....OMFG! how long did it take u to do that? if i tried...my house and room would be covers in paint and paper and broken pensil leads and sharpener shaving things..i like the blue tone, it suits it well perfectly, io tried to imagin different colours but blue works best

It looks as if he is crying, screaming his grief and anger into a vast pit where it will echo to the bottom, and perhaps when it bounces back it will have been turned inside out, The grief will have become happiness and the pain, joy and it will wash over him and make him happy, or perhaps it will merely mock him.
