This reminds me of the "People Tree", the symbol of Columbia, Maryland, USA, where I grew up. | |
| 15 May 2004 | Chelle | I like this- once again, simple, but if were reallly detailed, it may not look so good. It'd be too...busy, if that makes sense. This one makes me think of tree spirits mourning the loss of a forest, or the Fair Folk of Ireland, or the Sevenwaters trilogy by Juliet Mariller. In those books, especially the first, the characters are such a part of nature, and when part of their sacred forest is destroyed, they mourn its loss heavily. Crazy, but that's what this reminds me of. It's very good. Laura Ellen Rappleye replies: "Yes, it's interesting all the many things this picture could represent or remind people of. I thought of calling it the tree of life, and someone asked me if the tree of death then was made up of males. I laughed and at the time thought, perhaps. But I think it could go either way. It's never always the male's fault, most times it's the girl's or both. But now that I've gone off on a tangent, thanks again for your comment!" | |
