SciFi and Fantasy Art: Magic

A portrait of my main character, Calynn. The portrait is a little smudged. I am working on a computer-colored version in which she is wearing an exotic velvet robe and a cap of pearls on her head. I'll post it when I finish it! Sketched in pencil. Inspired by my own writings.

verry beautifull she looks like dana scully indeed...lovely.. and about the eyes..Nobody has 2 exact the same eyes and I think that an artist is in his right if he reflects the picture as a real person not as just a drawing that's what makes this drawing so special...

I love this pic...just love it. The eyes are lovely. I like the fact that she looks like a real person you might meet on the street, rather than the standard "female" face.

I do have a negative critic about this piece, but believe me that's good, because I only critic pieces that I feel are "only just a little off" and could benifit by it. I can see a development in your work and I think that it will continue to improve. The secret to improvement is to sketch, sketch, sketch. Anything in front of you. Carry a sketch book and pencil at all times. Now, in this piece (like I said in your Knight on horseback piece) the dimentions are a bit off. One of the most common problems with artists who are just starting is to draw what they know and not what is really there. In this case the top of the head is not full enough. Also, watch that temptation to outline something (like a nose) where shading should do the job. Keep drawing! 2

I think the eyes are beautiful. To me it seems the reason they're a little off is that her eyebrow is raised. It's a facinating look she's giving us. And wonderful nose. Mine always turn out wrong.

Oh, i think she's beautiful! Everything, from the "unsymmetrical" eyes and crooked smile, gives character to Calynn. I can't wait to see the final product! Add a little more shading to the piece when you color it! Also, didn't u say that Calynn and A'denn'll fall in love? Put up a piece of them two together soon! Hehe, keep up the good job!

The left side is beautiful, but the right side is a little off. Not quite even. Nice pic overall, though.
