SciFi and Fantasy Art: Voltaire: Plains of Hell

The earliest A3 pencil crayon work on this page. This was the inspiration for me to create a series of works using the media of pencil crayons. It was created in mid 1995. This piece shows Voltaire, or Satan, sitting on his throne in a rather idylic Hell. I was never sure if the message of Satan being bored was a good thing, or a bad thing... All up to interpretation, I guess. Instead of three suns, there are 3 planets. I like the number 3.
