No-one, I repeat no-one should put you down because you are one of the best on Elfwood. You are really, really talented, and your art is just amazing. Anyone who says you aren't any good is a nincompoop. This my favourite of yours. Stop apologising for lack of talent because your lying. You have a LOT of talent.

Holy Cow! If this image doesn't inspire people to practice their art skills more, than nothing will! This is a powerfuly frightening image, but also somewhat humorous on a certain level.
Great design and textures, the paper cut-outs look uncanny realistic. I'm not sure that I understand all the symbolism, but I think that this image resonates a lot of pain and frustration.
Very powerful work, a lot effort went into this.
This is a magnificent display of self expression, it's what art's all about man.
It's good to see that you are still making art Richard.
Great stuff!

I think this is my favorite picture in your gallery. Not because it is one of the few that isnt a dolled up half naked woman (I have a fair share of those in my gallery too) But rather that it seems like you put so much more of yourself in this. And the tremendously good three dimensional feeling of the paper clippings and stuff. Did you draw everything on the paper or did you use collage technique on anything? Either way it is great.

1 Richard Thomas Lankes aka 'Dirty da Vinci' replies: "I must admit, your comment has made me feel better about today. It's all drawn in and on the paper. I lucked out, actually. The wolf carbon pencil I used worked well with the paper (Strathmore paper 300 series). I usually work on Crescent illustration matboard, and I'm not sure I would have acquired the same effect on it. And yes, I did put a fair part of myself into this work. It reflects a certain philosophy of mine, between an artist and his/her work. "
