SciFi and Fantasy Art: Remembrance

After some pictures with pencils, I decided to draw in pastels. The woman ist thinking about some events or persons of the past. (1991, Pastel on Ingrespaper, 45cm x 62cm)

I love the way you didn't show her whole arm. You cut off the elbow like it was out of the picture. I also like the way her hair is flowing behind her and she has this deep deep thought in her eyes. I love this kind of artwork. I never believed in these fantasy things, but someday when I get my own house I may have some of your artwork on the walls because it creates a nice atmosphere. By the way, dragons are my fave.

I think that little dragon is a little plain in textures compared to the rest of the picture.

If the lacing goes all the way down (such as in a bodice), so that it actually JOINS two edges of clothing then it is tied at the bottom (easier to deal with on your own anyway). If it is just a partial lacing where the fabric is already partially joined (like in the picture) then it is tied at the top, otherwise it would be too impractical to deal with-with or without help. So see, she isn’t dressed like a prostitute, there just aren’t any other options with that type of shirt.

:-) Ric Sattler replies: "nice analysis"

Uhm...I'm confused about all the talk about the lacings. I think it looks just fine myself. The skintones are exceptional, she looks so REAL. I love the little dragon at her arm. The lady looks so wistful, like she is remembering something sad or painful in her past. Really superb work.

This is really great. Especially for being done with pastels. Ha, it also looks totally 70's. Reminds me of Charlie's Angels.

Her head seems a bit too small.

This gorgeous. My only peeve is the first finger; it’s bent at such an angle that I’m pretty sure you can’t get on a human, or at least without practicing. Sorry if I’m wrong.
I like the lacings. I love the dragon. I love her skin. Just not a big fan of the finger.
