SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fairy In The Sun

A little fairy resting in the sun. I never planned to end up with all these pastel colours, but truth be told I really like them. I'd never use a colour scale like this on a digital artwork, and I kinda like the change. :)

This is 10x15 cm (4x6 inches) marker piece. I really shouldn't make details like this on something that small, but at the same time I really like working in a scale like this. It makes it easier to see an end to it. And you can put them into cute little frames afterwards.

This was made for a fairy contest hold by Lisajen-stock. She's calling for traditional art, so I thought I'd give her some. :)

I love the effect you got on her wings, how did you get that in marker? And her hair and dress are beauitful! Rikke Lindskov ´Gwennafran´ Loft replies: "I used two different blue markers. A dark one for the wing base, and a lighter one for the "transparent" part. First I made the "base on the other side" with the light marker. And after that was dry I started to make tons of little squares/lines on the wings. That pattern also goes over the first part I made that suggest the "wing-base" on the other side of the wings. Phew... I hope this makes sense. "

I just lifted them from two photos I took in a forest this summer. Now I know both the Danish and the English name due to comments on my picture. "

Maybe markers with as diverse of shades as colored pencils would help... but... yeah I'm rambling. She looks so at peace and the shading is beautiful! Congrats on Mod's.
