SciFi and Fantasy Art: Trouble Ahead

I like the lighting of the candle, very nicely done!, and the corresponding shadows of the hammer is great too

I really like this, the axe has a nice 3d effect to it and the light has a very eerie feel to it. Although, I do think that you overused the smudging with the computer, while some looks pencily texture, others looks more watercoloury... and I just realised that the light from the candle would emit a circular light, but to the right of the axe it seems to go on further than i think it should... I think you may find also that the candle would glow more at the top where the light is than the bottom of the candle... It is a very good attempt at tackling your weakness though. I find to get the right effects with things i'm unsure about is to set up a similar scenario for me to look at.

Well, I think it's... totally beautiful. Perhaps you shouldn't have smudged it like that, but I don't care much actually... I really like the colours and... and... everything. =)

The colors and shading are lovely, but what I really like here is the perspective, the way the weapon on the table seems to be coming at you.
