SciFi and Fantasy Art: Calling the wind

The nikhalas, pirate women, have their own magic, as one of her leaders is a sea spirit. In this case, a novice is learning to manipulate winds for making ships go faster. Photoshop on pencil.

Anatomy, skin tones, highlights, shaodows...they're all great! I love the concept and the execution. Not to mention they are both drop dead gorgeous...

An amazing pic well executed I love the way u make ur drawings without pay
ing attention to bad comments.
And I just whant to say tha I liked very much the pic of Bast to, she is so feminine, beautiful and innocent but wild as a cat.Her posture everything is perfect.
In this pic it's awesome to se the colours, the details, how the bodys look perfect and specially the original subjects that u use...
Continue the good work.

Hehe, i have been receving bad comments since i started to put pictures on internet, and i am not talking about constructive comments, i mean comments like "this is porn" and other things from weirdos all over the world. But you know, is internet, and is like a representation of the world, and in the world there are a lot of people with problems of education, and they have enough being like that ^_-"

I like the right one more, mostly because she's covered more.

i love the fact that they are piratical women commanding their sensuality. The one on the right seemed more like the commander. Her clothes add to her allure. They are both beautiful. to make such scenes involved loads of talent. I love all of your pictures.

49 Roberto Raba replies: "Thanks for your comments, you are very kind!! ^__^ Yes, in fact the one at the right is an expert pirate, and she is teaching the younger one the spell, and watching that the spell doesn´t go further and make an enormous wave or something like that... Thanks!"

Lovely picture, if I do say so myself. I love the colors used and the expressions on the faces. The proportions are great too, except for the fact that on the girl with the blonde hair, one hand is smaller than the other.

:-) Roberto Raba replies: "errr... is.. the spell!"

I have nothing against nudity (I even saw your levely imp who kills critics) but I have to wonder if a woman going into battle might not want something to turn aside sharp steel blades? Just a thought. A woman can look very sexy and still wear something that will prevent her from getting killed. Not that these ladies aren't stunning, but unless they're immortal... Excellent work by the way, your style is very detailed and clean. Keep up the good work (and pass out the armor).

1 Roberto Raba replies: "Thanks for the comment! I totally agree, but they are just training in this picture, and training magic, wich is easier without armour on. When they fight, they do wear strong armour pieces! ^__^"

Dude, great work! love the concentrated look on the novices’ face.
Ever read Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan? ( must have..!)
Anyhow, the pirate folk there, they use exactly the same technique/spell/magic!
Every ship has one of these spellcasters, to speed them up.
I really like it! Also, it almost fits my image of the pirates of WoT!
once again: great work!
