SciFi and Fantasy Art: ~Kydahrus Dancing in Phoenix day Costume~

Believe it or not, I had thought this one destroyed in August of 1994 when I,again, moronically Burned scores of my writings and drawings..Then I found it yesterday (10-04-2002) while searching very old boxes of stuff for all the names of Sharaulnian places for a new map I'm making, and I found it with a cardboard Tairlanga mask from 1987!.It was drawn with those Multi-Color Ball point pens which I can no longer get *sobs*. It represents Kydahrus Ni-Raulshi Celebrating Phoenix day in the traditional Phoenix day Costume. OOOOOOOOOh! How I wish I'd found this thing earlier...It's about the best Vahrushi drawing I ever made....I really need to make some new ones......

Why do you burn your work?
25 Feb 2003:-) Maarten De Koster
Is it me or do you have a think with winged creatures? ^_~

14 Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "Yes! I THINK about them all the time! Really, Really! And it helps a lot for my thinking if they got Wings! Flying Critters are the best critters to be, you know?"

This is really cool. Please don't ever ever burn your work again! No matter what anyone else says about it! You are a very talented artist and conceptual creator. Don't give it up for anyone.

1 Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "I don't burn my art anymore--as doing so never worked to make my parents view me as being a "Normal" person anyway. I finally realized that I really Have no choice but to Dream and Write and Draw down this stuff. It's like a Compulsion. Maybe it's a Curse, but, maybe it will be useful someday. Probably Not, but, maybe....=^-^="

Ooh! Sort of a Foxy Angelic! This is really wonderful! Like he's wanting to fly or something from a dream he's having about being transformed into a magical bird!

1 Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "I had a dream that featured a Foxy-Angelic being in it at one point. But, the dream was about the Phoenix and alien invaders. I have really weird dreams that can be very vivid at times with long complex stories, that make me wonder if I might have been meant to write Sci-Fi stuff for Hollywood--they could really use some NEW material!"

Tralfy the colours are beautiful and the costume is great the k9-like creature is also represented really well. The face on the sketch to me looks slightly better but that’s just to me. I also like the opportunity to compare the coloured version to the sketch. Thank you for showing this

1 Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "The primary reason I hate redoing any of my 'On Lined Paper' art that looks really good, is that it tends to ruin the effect of the original sketch. Little details that make the face seem better on the sketch than on the finished drawing. That's why I posted both pictures. I know I really should redo my portrait of Spot--from Zone gallery- but, I fear ruining it in the process. It was so spontaneously drawn on X-mas morning 1995. I hate to ruin it with a redo."

Oh! Tralfaz! Why would you burn your creations for the acceptance of two people!!!! (even if they are your parents) **pats** Keep every thing you create! It comes in handy when you have a creativity dry spell (I doubt you've ever had one though ^_^) Or if you're feeling nostalgic, it's a treat to look through old stuff. Good thing this one escaped the flames, because I love it!
My folks never accepted what I liked, but I moved out and went on with my life with out bending to their will, and it is GOOD! Being able to hang up on them when they refused to listen was fun too. **lol**

Dazzling! What else to say, 'cept to ask if the wings are made of real feathers or cloth feathers???

1 Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "Depending on the costume the feathers can be Cloth, Leathern, or Real. Usually Dragon feathers are used because they are large, often brightly colored, and very durable. Hope that helps."

Dance Magic, Dance! Oh this is truly "Inspired" and Inspirational! Figure skater, Huh? Cool! I LOVE, LOVE LOVE his costume! A Fox-person wearing a Bird Costume? Who would have ever thought of that?! I like the brick / stone floor he's dancing on. It looks like it was from a real place!
