| 31 Jan 2001 | Alex R. | Awwwwe. How cute! I just want to rescue him, but, if he needs a bath, then he needs a bath. Wouldn't want a dirty dino stinking up your nice clean office now would we. 1993?! With FEATHERS?! NO WAY! You're kidding about that right? You mean you really drew feathered velociraptors before anyone else? WOW!
I've been drawing dinosaurs as feathered for over twenty years now. Finally, I have some real world fossil vindication. Maybe someday they'll put some really nice plumage on the Velociraptors and other small theropods in some Jurassic Park type dino flick. I don't know why Spielberg didn't in the first place, and Disney definitely should have done so!(I understand that they did consider the notion, but, stupidly abandoned it for the more outdated look-pity...) *Sighs wistfully as he Imagines his dino shelf graced by numerous little vinyl figures of feathered Velociraptors* | |

| 7 Mar 2002 | Corvid | It's me again... regarding the whole feathered dino thing, I totally agree - I actually have quite a few of those characters myself! Have you ever read Dougal Dixon? If you can, try to check out his books "The New Dinosaurs" and "After Man". They are right up your alley! Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "Yes. I have noticed the trends changing towards my Junior High and High school ideas about Plumage on Dinosaurs. No. I do not believe that I have heard of Dugal Dixon (Not Directly at any rate), but, I have heard of James Gurney's Dinotopia. I have been avoiding reading any new stuff though because I am attempting to avoid any modern influences to my creation--at least until I get to a point in the stories where i don't need to draw any inspiration from modern sources. Maybe then I can start reading James Gurney and Dixon and so on. It's bad enough I am influenced by "The Flintstones, Classic 1974-'77 "Land of the Lost", and Star Trek type shows from my youth...Ergo, about the only Sci-Fi / Fantasy I read these days is restricted to the Classics and to Anne McCaffrey' Pern Novels." | |
| 7 Jun 2003 | Peter Starlancer | Looks like the kind of thing you'd find in a Peanuts comic. Eric R. Vondell ~ 'Tralfaz Aquilleon' replies: "Is that a Good thing or a Bad thing? Either way, I think I may redo it in more modern Manga style." | |
| 31 Dec 2003 | Peter Starlancer | Don't worry, it's a good thing. | |
