SciFi and Fantasy Art: Monochromatic Mermaid

Another homework assignment for my Drawing II class, he wanted us to do a 24x36' monochromatic drawing. This has got to be the first time I ever drew a mermaid really. I apologize for the dark shot, I promise that I'm gonna try to take a better shot and replace this. I had a lot of fun with this, first time working in coloured ink (which makes up the background). She's drawn in pastel. I wanted to draw her singing, happy and peaceful.
