| 20 Jan 1999 | Meilin Wong | Okay, you asked: Some quick Photoshop tips: If she's not already, put her in her own layer. Fill in the white holes in her dress in one of two ways: if it's a layer and the holes are transparent, use the brush in "behind" mode with the desired color 2) if the white is opaque white, put the brush in "darken" mode since green is darker than white. These two tips are just timesavers. To improve the overall effect, try starting with the blend or smudge tool. Be careful not to smudge over lines that you drew in the original or you'll get the classic photoshop oversmudged look. If you need to fix up oversmudging, take a hardedge brush and redefine the edges with the color you want. Remember that you can turn the opacity of the smudge tool way down in order to get only a very light smudging. This'll smooth out the texture on her skin for instance. I'd make the shadows on her skin more of the same color as her skin. Color the shadows lightly with your brush using the "color" mode and with a color picked up from the flesh tones. Finally, when everything is clean and smooth, try out the dodge and burn tools for increased 3d look. These are very quick notes. Email if you want more clarification. Good luck! | |
