SciFi and Fantasy Art: Deepdweller

Calypso's a blackdragon - a long, almost eel-like resident of the deep oceans. What must she think of the surface world with its scorching heat and blinding light, without the comfortable grip of three tons of pressure per square inch wrapped around her?

I revised Calypso recently to look a little more like a friend of mine, who I happen to think is very beautiful (she's not this giraffe-tall though, of course). The end result came out wonderfully except for that one ankle. The coiled, serpentine fish in the background is a stylized but non-anthropomorphized example of her species.

23 Nov 2006	Emily 'Ameneko' Shults	Loading... Indeed it must be strange to not have three tons of pressure per square inch! I wonder if she could survive the lack of pressure... Well, she's lovely. I like how closely you've stuck to the original design--were the super-narrow legs intentional? They look intentional, because the original fish gets steadily narrower the further from the head it gets.
