SciFi and Fantasy Art: Cockatrice Magic

I like taking old fantasy creatures like the cockatrice and reinventing them. In this case, a gorgon-like little snake with a chicken head on has been remade into a sort of dragon/chicken hybrid, with a complex caste system based on scale color and a society founded on magic. Three of the four magical types are shown here: the druid (brown, life magic), the mage (blue, elemental magic), and the necromancer (black, death magic). My only gripe with this is that the necromancer's legs are too short.

4 Jul 2003	Chris	Loading... The only other version I've seen of a Cockatrice is the one from Magic: The Gathering and thier artwork is far from cartoonish. I think your pictures are great and really original (that's a good thing)!
