SciFi and Fantasy Art: Biological Blue

Argh, I suspect this is illegible. But this is literally as large as I could make this image. Anyway. . . this, apparently, is what happens when you let a biology major anywhere near fantasy. Either you get dragons that can't fly, can't breathe fire, and probably are as dumb as rocks (or dumb as crocodiles, rather) - dragons that can actually exist in reality - or you get this, which is a bit of biology and quite a bit of hand-waving so as to be able to keep the cool stuff. The fact that I even think about energy requirements and mass homeothermy where dragons is concerned probably means it's time to commit me somewhere.

If it really is totally illegible, a larger version is available at www.yerf.com/sabajenn/bioseth.jpg.

I have an excellent resource for you if you want the bios on dragons: Dragons, An introduction to the modern infestation. The author is Pamela Wharton Blanpied.

This is a real book of which I own a copy, found it in a used book store. It is great! Fiction but written like a true biology book; they even have diary entrys from obsevers, sketches, life cycle, everything!

On the back cover it even says: "Listed in the official publicatios of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, 30 January 1981."

By the way when I say DUMPLIN, I mean it in a funny, friendly way(!!) Awwww sorry.... did I just put my name that I use to put fear into people with in brackets? Oh well, hope I didn't scare you too much.

Of COURSE he can't breath fire, he's a blue dragon, which means if he had a breath weapon it would be lightning you DUMPLIN.... heh heh(!!) I like the texture and (of course) the dragon!!.
