SciFi and Fantasy Art: Acid Dragon

One of thirdy two or so dragons that I was asked to do by a friend. The design is his ((c) Jason Arnold), but the art is mine...so we make a good team. Anyways...I went back and redid this dragon from when I orginally drew it. Drastic differences in style and the end result was this cool pic. I'll be working on resorting and bettering the other 31 or so dragons as I get around to it. (See...I can do detail when I want to :p )

Pfft! That IS detailed! And it is quite good! I believe you might have known those things already, as well, but I didn't know for sure.
I didn't mean for what I said to upset you or anything, I was just going for constructive criticism. :>
*waits around for more dragon art*

:-) Samantha A. Martin (Element Dragon) replies: "Don't worry...I'm not upset...*sigh*...just a little disappointed in myself I guess...*shrugs*...oh well...I promise better in the future. "

I would just like to say that the wings look GOOD. Dragons' wings don't necessarily need big muscles, especially not if it is a young dragon or a gliding dragon. This dragon looks rather light-weight so I think the proportion of the wings are good too, they seem semi-folded near the body which would allow a bit of stretch as well. But in order to support its lower body its true that the membrane should be lower down - not that it really matters since this is an artist's work and shouldn't be set to any given standards.

2 Samantha A. Martin (Element Dragon) replies: "Tis true, I've seen weirder that are supposedly supposed to be able to fly. Heck…I’ve even drawn a few like that."

31 other dragons?? Sheesh! You're quite a friend! 12 And while Heather's lecture points are valid, and stand in good stead if one is trying for a realistic-looking dragon (i.e., one that could exist on known anatomy, with our gravity, in our atmosphere, and sans magic) ... there is artistic license to consider. Bad dragon anatomy is also a pet peeve of mine, but I can see that you do at least know the principles; it's the impossible joints and obvious flaunting of biology that annoy me. I can't help it! I'm a dreamer with a scientific mind! 12

1 Samantha A. Martin (Element Dragon) replies: "Pigmy wings aren't on the list of pet peeves! Yay! Of coarse if you guys keep it up your going to hurt his feelings by pointing out his deficiencies 12"

I'm glad that everyone can be so critical about other people's work................everyone has to start somewhere and to have the guts to show it to others takes great courage.......this dragon is not all that badly done..........yes it needs some work,......but don't we all.

14 Samantha A. Martin (Element Dragon) replies: "I think it would look better without the big lecture right under it, but it helps to have people point out my screw ups so I can do better next time 2"

Good colouring, but the wings is wrong. If I may say so.

1 Samantha A. Martin (Element Dragon) replies: "*poke* we know that already. *points up to lecture* Next topic of the day...think he's lime green enough or do I need to feed him more limes?"
