SciFi and Fantasy Art: Merbubble

This pic is technically nothing special. It's just a sketch, no color or bg or anything and it didn't take long to draw at all. But for some reason, I really like it. It makes me happy. She's just a cute little anime mermaid, holding a cute little bubble and being... well, cute. It's fluff. But fluff is fun; otherwise, why would we eat cotton candy? This is my picture for a rainy day. I'm so sappy sometimes. ^_^

Wow, she really looks alot like Dryden's mermaid... really, she does... not the same style though, and I think I like her tail better, Dryden's mermaid's looks too long. I've been writing all day, can you tell I'm getting a bit weird about it? 'Cause I really feel giggly and stupid right now... TeeHee!

Sandy says: Right on, I was thinking of Dryden's mermaid...but I think I told you that already, so you get no points. Ha! All right, two points for saying 'TeeHee'. But that's it!

What a cutie! I love that webby fin that goes all the way down her back and tail. The little arm-fins are cool, too. One more thing that would round out the fishy look would be to web her fingers.

Sandy says: Webbed fingers... I never even thought of that. Kinda weird, actually; most mermaids do have webbed fingers, I mean, it's only logical if you live in the ocean, right? I'll definitely remember that. Thanks muchly for your comments!

"Under de sea! Under the de sea! Can’t remember the rest of the song…"

Okay, so it doesn’t remained me of the Little Mermaid at all, however she’s got a really cool character design and I’d think it be really cool if she showed up again. Hmmm, maybe I’ll put a mermaid in Magicks? What do you think?

Many points for the cool facial tattoos, there aren’t enough facial tattoos around, that’s what I say.

Sandy says: Yhea, put her in Magicks! That would be cool.

I've just been gutted. I have a picture of a mermaid in nearly this identical pose (no bubble, no hair, but spikies all the way down her back). Gah! *crumples and hides* No upload of that for me! But yours is far better. Cute expression.
