SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Warrior

This image is a design for a barbarian/fighter type fantasy character, the kind of guy who would save the day by happily taking on all kinds of dragons, monsters and other forces of evil armed with nothing but his muscles and a trusty axe.  The drawing was originally intended for use in a roleplaying game that never got published. Since the guy's supposed to be a kind of barbarian, I tried to keep the design of his outfit and armor rather simple. The armored sleeve he is wearing was inspired by Roman gladiator armor. I felt it would be more appropriate and creative for the character of a rather primitive warrior than giving him a knight's shield or a full armor.
It was the first drawing after a long (LONG!) period of not really drawing anything worth posting and I was quite surprised how well it turned out. I know that especially the lower torso and the legs are far from perfect (a little small and weak when compared to the other body parts), but I think this is still one of the best drawings I ever did this far. As most of my stuff, it was created using a mechanical pencil. Feel free to comment away!

I believe You drew the lower body in proportion to the upper body. it looks very natural

Its very good but a bit too muscular but i think u should also do a better axe then just a basic battle axe

While the axe does look a bit like you changed your mind about the perspective while drawing it, I think it looks cooler asymetrical, than as a standard issue war axe.

U should have made a better axe than that but other than the axe it's realy good

This guy is awesome! Really I think the lips are fine- they give him an expression of disgust. The necklace is very interesting, as well as the belt. But I was wondering about that piece of fabric on his arm. The shading was great, considering you used a mechanical pencil(thats what I use too).
