SciFi and Fantasy Art: Blade Golem

Having created a rather cute image ('Egg Surprise'), I felt the urge to counterbalance that with something evil. What I came to call a 'Blade Golem' was probably inspired by the necromancer's steel golem in Diablo II, since I liked the idea of using weapons to create golems. Playing around with that concept, I imagined some mad wizard creating a golem that would utilize the weapons (swords, daggers, etc.) it collects from deceased (sliced, chopped, eaten) opponents and add them to its own body. Hence the large amount of different blades all over this creature. I couldn't decide what kind of legs to add to this when it came to my mind that it would be much more dangerous if it could fly (or at least hover). It's magic, so why not?! Oh, and if you want to build one to kill your friends, you'll also need a large supply of Jade, cuz that's what keeps this baby running (explains the green glow and runes). State of the art 'cutting edge' evil wizardry, people! ;)

3 May 2006	Lost One	Loading... hmm,.. this looks like the creature in The Last Day Dawns, nice game though, but not original Sascha Frank replies: "yeah, I'm truly sorry that my drawing ist not original because you've seen something similar in game XYZ that I never played... geez, next thing you're going to tell Da Vinci that the Mona Lisa is not original, because smiling women have been drawn before.."
