SciFi and Fantasy Art: Personal Zodiac

BUY A PRINT!!

Finally, something done in art class that I can post! I haven't had much time for my normal fantasy/scifi stuff. Plus, I'm backed up in commissions. Sorry PD I am gettin to them though. Slowly but surely.
This one has a lot of personal defintion to it. The aim of the assignment was to create a personal zodiac portrait. I decided to ditch the traditional 'Scorpio' symbols and go with symbols that meant something more to me. If you can name all of the symbols in this, then you have my admiration! On the whole, this picture presents a mix of different religious philosophies and meanings which I incorporate into my own theology. This had ever so much more effect than the scorpion and curly 'M' gaelic symbol.

Ahh.. just a couple more comments to add.. and this is just a stab in the dark too..

The sunset, I think would represent death, and in the Egyptian belief, the dead are buried in the west because it is believed they have to pass judgement before they can reach the afterlife and be reborn.

And I think that tree would simply represent life, possibly and rebirth/reincarnation? hmm, just a guess.

The wings however have me stumped, hehe...

Wings may be the one obvious Scorpio element in the picture. The Eagle is one of the symbols for the sign.

The bleeding wrists represent jesus christ....so martyrish tendancies. Perhaps as a nod to the fact that we scorpios tend to be ultra passionate in our believes and somewhat self distructive.

The lotus blossom and the position remind me of symbols for enlightment in budhism, which would be a nod to the scorpios spiritual side.

I don't know about the wings...the eagle thing would make sense though, I also like the idea of death and life represented by the sun and tree.

There's the symbol for ra, atop a moon, So the moon and the sun, life and death again?

One thing i noticed for a symbol that i didn't read in the above comments was the triangle in the back, 3 sides, past, present, future... Birth/rebirth, life, and death. Just a thought.

I think that your amazing, youve got everyone thinking. Everyones so caught in trying to figyre out what this art means. You have a real gift. It looks as if youve added alot of thought into this one. I personally dont really understand scorpios and this pic has just confused me even more. Other then that, i love your work. Every one of them =)

I can tell you, what I do see.
The eye and the pyramid are from Egypt mythology. Second the angle wigs and the man is from India's story with the wounds of Christ. The blood are the sins of man that are forgiven. The moon and the flower I'm not so shore.
