| 3 Jun 2006 | Lydia | Seeing this picture and the great lack of constructive criticism under it made me want to comment. First of all, congratulations its a very nice picture. You seem to have talent, in fact a precise gift that not many have, which is that 'feel' of what things look like. For example the arm which is behind is drawn very very correctly though the picture is not photorealistic at all, the fold/curve in the jacket is also really skilfully drawn and the legs' positions are so accurate! The whole figure has a great movement to it, and it would be a really astonishing piece of work, in all its simplicity, if it werent for the visage. Not that its badly drawn. On the contrary, its very neat. Its just somewhat incorrect compared to the rest of teh figure, and the area above the nose just feels wrong. The apathy of the expression was willing as is great, but overall the face could use some improvement to match the greatness of the rest. The simplicity of the backround matches the comic style perfectly. Overall, this is really good. I will go check the rest of your gallery. | |
