SciFi and Fantasy Art: The World Tree

Proof at last! I do backgrounds! Of course, this one is ALL background. Well, I guess if you're gonna do something, go all the way, eh? Anyhow, this is an old idea, the concept of a world tree. It was an image that got stuck in my head a while back. The first one I did was pretty bad, but a few years later this one found its way onto paper.

hehe...to proof that you do backgrounds you'll need something more-don't get angry, I say this for good!!-hehe, now seriously, is nice tree, but you should try with a deeper background in more levels. You should improve, not remain where you are, you show talent and skill. Be more exigent with yourself, and keep on it, I really like your work.

I love your entire gallery, apart from one picture, if i remember correctly, you keep the art of black and white being better. I've always preferred the b&w, a lot more detail, a lot more emotion.

The reason i posted on this pic though, instead of the hwole gallery, is because this pic especially calls to me, considering i've drawn something almost identical (save the dragon and the exact shape). Great minds think alike, no?

Awesome work, I have seen every picture in your gallery, and must say that you are a wonderful artist. I think this is my favorite picture though, as the thought of a giant tree with people living in and on it is simply amazing, to me. I also must say, you need to do more backgrounds, and that it does look like a giant bonsai tree. Stunning.

This is the same thing I wanted to draw. -_- Take a look at my gallery and you'll find something like this too! Anyway, Good Job! Expecially with the top, I had some diffictulies with that.

Nice! I like how it's not just some hopped up regular tree like I've seen other people do. Not that their work is bad by any means, but this tree has character. It would be cool to see a closer view of the home of whatever lives in the World Tree. Again, nice work.

Awesome work there! There is simply so much detail there it takes quite a while to see most of it. It reminds of the the BLS (Black Label Society for those non-Society Dwelling motherf*ckers out there) "Beneath the Tree".

Curse you, Riley! Here I thought that my idea for setting a campaign in a huge friggin' tree was entirely original ... now you REALLY must pay. Still and all, I think I'll save the picture (with your permission) in hopes of some day actually running such a campaign. Oh, and as for the art itself, I can't say enough. It's beautiful work, and the fact that it looks real no matter at what distance one views it makes it FEEL real, too. Like mountains in the distance that grow and grow and take on more detail as you travel.

:-) Sean C. Riley replies: "Of course you have my permission. I'm pleased to hear that you had a similar idea. As a previous poster mentioned, "great minds think alike, no?" 2"
