SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sentinel

My one and only watercolor! (I can't use the stuff) From the same story as Taylin and Cooper. Sentinels are these creepy creatures with funny weapons. Nobody knows why they're called sentinels, except for the sentinels themselves, and, of course, me ;) http://www.geocities.com/windrunner12

Unique combination of colors! Make the background totally black (test with photoshop), I bet that will ... I don't know, could be cool!

Oh I dunno.. Looks like you have a good concept of watercolors.. Just remember that layering is key, and ya dont wanna blend with much water.. it makes for mud.. Prisma colors can help touch up water colors very well... But as for this picture here, I like it much. I like th colors. It does need a blacker background though.. Blacken the bottom corners and grey out the top a tiny bit perhaps? Blacker, like dark black along the right side of the sentinel, will make him stand out a lot more.

Oh, and watercolour's a tough medium.

Hurrah for intense eyes! Now make them 10X that. And I agree with andre, the backround should be black. It'll seem like the blade it cutting through the very fabric of the darkness (oooh, Puck waxes poetic)

And a sick greenish-yellow light sprang up around the blade? I like! This is actualy just how I imagined them looking from your descriptions, so bravo to both the watercolor pic and the written one.

SURREAL! I felt just like I waked aroud a corner in some cave complex and saw THAT waiting to drag me to my doom! LOVE the hint of a maelevolent grin underneath the mask. Keep it up!

Can't use watercolors?!?!? If you can't then there certainly isn't any hope for the rest of us. 12 This is fantastic. I have to agree w/ Austin. This guy has such character... so why ARE they called sentinels??? WHY??? I must know!!! The thing I love most about this pic, though, is the color choice. The green shadows, rather. Inspired! Great pic- keep it up!
