SciFi and Fantasy Art: Silver gryphon necklace

Here's a piece of jewelry I made. I made the gryphon pendant first in wax then got it cast to silver. The other beads and charms were extra things I had around, the background of this was just a random piece of cloth. Wish I had done the wings and talons better though. ~lost wax casting, silver~

Wax casting? Never heard of it... Tell me about it! I want to make something as cool as that! Is it expensive? Lovely work on the gryphon, theres nothing wrong with his talons!
