SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fire and Ice

Fire meets ice. Would there be conflict, chaos, or partnership? This came right from my head. I drew it on Christmas Eve. Done December, 2000.

I think this picture really shows how much people study their greek gods. but anyway I really like this picture.

Okay, I love these dual sided pictures, but the one thing that I thought was fire's opposite was water, as if one has the larger hand, it quenches the other. Ice has more of an effect against the ground considering that over years, the freezing and thawing can crack, and destroy rocks. But, also, the ground can direct ice (Glacier). Then there is electricity, and wind...wind more or less has little effect against the ground, water, but it can destroy fire, or feed it. Electricity can incite fire, but it can't damage the ground, air, or water. But in any case, this is a beautiful contrast in personalities, thank you, I love it!

I love the shading on both sides of the drawing, They look really great. Exspecially love the hair. Only bad thing thought was that when you tried to combine them it didn't work out. Ohh yeah and the eyes, they are just to wide eyed to be thoughtof as realistic. but other than that. I Love It!

I just love this picture. It shows the different faces people have. I think you did a good job, can you do some more like this?

This picture is another one of my favourites. As I said before, the hair is awesome.....on the fire side, it actually looks like flames, but also like hair....and on the ice side, it's so.....cold-looking. When I look at this picture, I like to cover up the ice side with my hand, so it looks all fiery, then move my hand so it looks like just ice. When I concentrate on just one element, I can actually feel it, and when I look at the whole thing, the contrast is so......striking. Shara, I just know you're gonna make it big in art someday, then we'll all be able to say we knew you 12 Keep it up, you're the best 1

Ugly

Anonymous, how DARE you say something like that?!?!?!? I mean, constructive criticism is one thing, but when you say Shara's picture is "ugly" without basing that on anything, that makes me really mad. Shara's an awesome artist, and I sincerely doubt that you could do better than her. This picture is, in fact, one of my favourites (right up there with "People of the Sea"). Shara, please don't let this jealous bastard ruin your enthusiasm for painting and drawing.
