SciFi and Fantasy Art: (Widget) Hamlet, Prince of Denmark Unfortunately, this was the only photo that I could obtain, as my computer seems to have eaten the rest of the disk. A widget* performing the part of Hamlet, as odd as that seems to me. Made for a dear friend's birthday gift, although several of the details were lost. The knife at his waist has a glass hiltstone, and hangs from a piece of silver cord. The smudges on his face, hands and floor are intentional, for he has just pulled the skull from a grave. The disorderly writing on the plaque is also intended, as at this point in the story Hamlet is mad (or pretending to be.) ."Alas, por Yorick! I knew him, Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy..." -William Shakespeare *widgets are a gnome-like race of creatures featured elsewhere in my gallery who were created as bearers of light. Hence it seemed a bit odd to make a widget who was, well, Hamlet. Hamlet is not known for spreading Joy. Size: roughly 4 in/7 cm. Media: Polymer clay, silver thread, and a glass bead. | |
