| 8 Jan 2008 | John R Farley Jr | You're right, those aren't roots. A very leggy stand, I wonder if that help "get a leg up" on other sorceresses? I bet she had to foot the bill get that. And of course one can feel ten-feet-tall when close to it. Shelz Keast replies: "Yes lots of little feet. The Lectern is not always helpful. If you know the Luggage of Discworld think along similar lines. It's not exactly disobedient but it does have it's own agenda. Remeber the woodshed..." | |
| 8 Jan 2008 | Dave Cripps | Those aren't roots methinks. Little feets ready to make a run for it. A la the luggage That little dragon looks more like a dog kind of dragon instead of a cat-like dragon. but seems to exhibiting both cat and dog-like behaviour. (What?) Shelz Keast replies: "Yes indeed they're little feet. And yes it is similar to the Luggage. I guess because I was reading a couple of Discworld books before and during doing this picture it sort of leaked in (though neither book featured the Luggage). I can also explain the cat and dog like properties of the dragon. It was originally going to be based on a hunting dog such as a Lord of the Manor might have then I thought it'd be nice to have the dragon leaning up against the mage like a cat does. The features must have become combined." | |
| 8 Jan 2008 | John R Farley Jr | Ha, Now why do I get the feeling the little dragon is purring? Cool outfit on the woman, and I like the gnarled roots of the book stand. Shelz Keast replies: "The dragon is meant to cat like. Sort of rubbing up against his side like cats do. Sigh... The mage is male, he's not even the most feminine of guy's I've done. I guess it's because he's somewhat inspired/based on manga bishounen (lit. pretty boys)." | |
| 19 Mar 2008 | Stephanie S. K. Marbach | i like the way that gryphon-dragon-like animal is cuddling himself against the legs, one can really feel he’s enjoying the pets he gets ! the head of the man seems a bit too small somehow, i don’t know, there’s something strange about the anatomy. that shelf the book is laying on looks fantastic !!! Shelz Keast replies: "I am rather fond of the Lecturn (the shelf thing). There is a tendancy in my pictures to draw humans rather elongated." | |
| 25 Mar 2008 | Sam Adams | That stand is soooooo cool! I also love that little dragon! Shelz Keast replies: "I want a pet dragon like it. Much better than a dog." | |
