SciFi and Fantasy Art: Little Dragons

I have a collection of dragon ornaments. Somtimes I think they almost have a life of their own. So I thought 'why not draw them in their natural enviroment, my desk?' Thus was created the picture. I now watch as they frolic, I'm putting the final touches on...hey! You! Keep away from that! NO! Aoughr NOOOOO! Gwra shoo sho! No, no don't you dare come back!

Too much life.

aww *grabs one and cuddles* I'm gonna take you home *dragon puffs fire at face* o.o *caugh*....or not

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Try the one looking through my glasses; it doesn't breathe fire. Don't forget it's mine though, he's got to come home before dark!"

Is this ball point pen? Cos' it would be very difficult to obtain these results with pen and ink.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Oh I assure you that this was done with pen and ink. The original is about A3 in size, so this copy is shrunk quite a bit."

Quite delightful and whimsical. I love the thought of coming home and finding these cute little guys gamboling about the desk. I sure hope the one little dragon didn't hurt is tail by sticking it in the pencil sharpener. Wonderful detail by the way!

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "No the dragon didn't hurt it's tail in the pencil sharpener. It's based on a clay dragon I made a while ago whose tail broke in the kiln (I've kept the tail as it still tucks in nicely to it body). You make the dragons sound so cute 'gamboling' about. They are a bit pesky at times- they did knock over the ink after all."

*LOL* - reminds me a LOT of the gremlins’ scene...;-) i love how you’ve mixed that splash of ink with the picture, like the creatures actually were in real life too, and one just walked on the ink and left the footmarks... great idea, great combination and quite a surrealistic effect... awesome2!!!

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "I don’t know Gremlins. The ink was actually accidental fortunately I was planning to deliberately spill ink there."

Oh i’m glad i’m not the only one to have seemingly inanimate objects come to life right before and start being too mischievous for their own good! This is great, cheeky things!

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Yes, they are rather cheecky little so and so’s."

Oh wow, they are so cute! *Grabs one and hugs* I would so like to have these on my desk despite their behavior ^_^ I like how realistic you’ve made it and also the ink puddle in the corner. It makes me kinda confused 1 I also have to say that you have a lot of patience by doing all those spots, I would never be able to do that o.O Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your comment! You have an impressing gallery, keep it up!
*Febridë*

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Oh and thank you for your comment here. Comments are always apreciated. Yeah those dots took a while. Not nearly as long as those in "The Spider" though, that was a real test of patience."
