| 5 Nov 2007 | John R Farley Jr | Ha, ha, very funny. In America there is a theater group that does parades and shows. They are a group of men dressed in business suits and each carries a brief case. It's amazing what choreography one can come up with when you put twelve guys together in suits and brief cases. Anyway, that's what I thought of when I saw this. Shelz Keast replies: "Thanks for the comment and interesting tale. I like the idea of something ascociated with being boring made to look funny." | |
| 7 Nov 2007 | Michelle L. Gerst | What...they're picking their umbrellas off trees? Very cute! | |
| 9 Nov 2007 | Dave Cripps | Oh this is the black business umbrella tree. IIs there a golf umbrella tree? (The ones without the adverts on them) Shelz Keast replies: "There was one of those; before it got struck by lightning." | |
| 19 Mar 2008 | Stephanie S. K. Marbach | *LOL* - try to put them up in england and you’ll get rich !!! nice idea !! | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | Stephanie Barker | Thomas Crown!!! great job Shelz Keast replies: "Thomas Crown?" | |
| 11 May 2008 | Catherine Brodie | Haha, lol awesome! | |
| 3 Jun 2008 | Michelle C. Osborn | This inexplicably reminded me of the last time I went trick-or-treating. I decided to go out with a bang and do something really scary, so, taking my inspiration from Foxtrot, I dressed all in black, picked up a briefcase and a business-looking hat, and pinned a sign to my chest that read: "IRS Audit Team". The adults handing out the candy were sufficiently stupified and terrified, and my candy haul that year was one of the biggest yet. Maybe there’s something to be said for this ’IRS’ business...
Nah.
But I like the pic. The accoutant’s umbrella is like the hitchhiker’s towel - don’t go anywhere without it! Shelz Keast replies: "Don’t know what IRS is though. If it’s something to do with trick or treating I’m not going to know comming from Australia. We don’t really do Hallowen down here."
| 4 Jun 2008 | Dave Cripps | By IRS I think she means TAX MAN!!!! Yep the very thought is frightening.... Was this inspired by Edward Lear? And what is the Latin for this plant? (Not the real plant) (Did mean to ask that last time but my brain only went along the golf umbrella route) LOL I often need to say that.... Shelz Keast replies: "heh, no worries. Tax men are just a figment of the imagination; albeit a very bad one.
Edward Lear is ringing bells but could be getting confused with Shakespear’s King Lear.
Hmmm how does "Arbor umbella" spund? Lit ’tree umbrella’. Gramatically I’m not enirelly certain, atleast both words a femanine; though belong to different declensions. If you want a better phrase I can always ask my Latin teacher; I think he’s gotten used to random requests for translateions from me. Considering I found ’my hovercraft is full of eels’ for him to translate from Latin."
