SciFi and Fantasy Art: Drizzt Do'Urden[April 19, 2003] Well, I said I'd redo this picture, and I did. I prefer this version to the other one - it's certainly different, and I think I've improved a heck of a lot in the last couple of years (I just realized that I must have been 13 when I first drew this). The biggest thing that I'm not happy with is the hair. If anyone has any advice about how to make it lok more natural, I'd like to hear it. Also, if he's still too girly, too manly, too human, too young or too old, by all means tell me. I'm keeping the below comments because they still apply, though.
[March 27, 2003] I have deleted all of the most recent comments (from the 24th 'til the 27th) because not only were they unconstructive, but they were frankly insulting to me and other commentors. For what it's worth, I'm not so fond of this picture either. It's old, I can do better, and I plan to redraw it sometime. If you don't like this picture, that's okay. I can handle it. However, once people start using the comments to attack one another, then things have gotten out of hand. So yeah. Play nice, guys.

| 28 Nov 2005 | Perkelee | Weird eyes... They are too close to each other..^^ | |
| 17 Apr 2006 | Raevan | Wow... I love this picture. There isn't anything wrong with the hair or eyes. And the first commenter was wrong, not all elves are supposed to be young. In the Lord of the Rings Aerowin (Or however you spell her name) gave up her immortality. I've read stories where elves were old and feeble. But anyway, great drawing. | |
| 22 Apr 2006 | Natalie Adams | HOW DARE PEOPLE INSULT THIS PICTURE?! i LUV it, and as i know i could not draw this well to save my life, i shall not put any kind of critisism down, so i won't...did i mention that i luved this pic? | |
| 7 Feb 2007 | Carly ´Lhena´ Silverton | I love the soft expression he caries, most people put a face of battle and such on him and i just dont picture him like that unless es really in battle, yet so many artists want to draw his battle look without an enemy in the picture, it bugs me! This is a big improvement from the fanpics i have seen of him and i like the things u used to draw this it gives off a softer look than expetede. oh and his fly aways from his hair is adorable! | |
| 28 Apr 2007 | Innovindil | He is so cute! | |
| 14 Nov 2007 | Karen Stevens | Oh wow! Re-reading the Legacy series now, and I think this is the best picture of Drizzt I've ever seen! This is *excellent!* | |
| 20 Jan 2008 | Sarah Getchell a.k.a. Xiao Lung | Actually the hair isn’t too terrible, it’s actually pretty good, his eyes seem too close together though? | |
| 16 Jun 2008 | Romana Marija Jadrijevic | this one is great! i love the way you make the shadows. and yes, the hair does look somewhat unnatural, more like from a comic book or something. i can’t give you any advice about that, i can just say to keep drawing and it will get better. and btw maybe the best thing about this drawing is that Drizzt doesn’t look like a ’pretty-boy’ like on many others, he looks REAL. so... keep up the good work! | |
